About

Statement of Faith

We believe that there is one Living and True God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; and that this triune God created all, upholds all and governs all.

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teaching, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth. We believe that in His first coming Jesus inaugurated the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; and that God regenerates and baptizes by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe in water baptism and communion open to all believers.

We believe also in the laying on of hands for the empowering of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders and deacons, for receiving gifts of the Spirit, and for healing.

We believe in the personal, visible appearing of Christ to each believer and the consummation of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and endless suffering of the wicked.

What We Believe

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
(Luke 4:18-19)

Sometimes when you visit a church, the first thing you read on their welcome material is "What We Believe"-and it's usually a doctrinal statement. That's good, except it may be perceived as "what it takes to get in our door". Perhaps we use doctrine for exclusional barriers rather than transformational truth. We think that's backward.

In our post-Christian, post-modern culture, we want to communicate what we value first, things like authenticity, a dependency on the Holy Spirit, generosity, transparency, acceptance, a heart for the poor, people who don't yet know Jesus, diversity, servanthood, Biblical truth, simplicity, worship and so on.

In the big picture, a church's belief system is really defined by what they spend energy and money on, what their mission and vision is, the atmosphere in which they do ministry and, of course, what their theology is.

Sunday Services

Our Sunday morning worship service is an environment created for people to experience God in a genuine way.  Through worship, the message and children's ministry our desire is for every person to encounter the love of God.  It's an atmosphere where Jesus is the focus and people's lives are changed.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I VISIT?

If you are new to Grace, you may want some questions answered before you visit.  Here's a look at what you can expect as you walk through the doors this weekend.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

Grace meets weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:30am for an exciting time of worship and relevant teaching from the Bible.  We have an incredible band that will lead us into God's presence and then a relevant message will be shared that you can apply to your life.  We believe that our service will be an experience you won't forget!  It will be fun and life-giving and led by the Holy Spirit with a mixture of music, media and preaching.

Schedule (Sunday Morning)
10:30-12:00 - Worship Service

9:00-10:00 - Sunday School, or E3 as we like to call it.

***Come early for Coffee and Fellowship

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR MY KIDS?

We have an excellent Children's team that is devoted to ministering to your children.  We have age appropriate ministries beginning with babies all the way up through high school.

All of the children have a time of teaching, crafts and prayer during our Sunday School which we refer to as E3.  Our team will be ready to receive your child at 9am for an hour of creative life changing age appropriate activities.  We encourage the children 5 years old and up to stay with the parents during our corporate worship time and then we release the children during the sermon to be a part of History Makers Kids Church.  It is a powerful time of impartation and worship on a kid's level that takes place every week.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Attire at Grace is casual.  Most people will dress in casual weekend attire, so dress how you feel comfortable and you'll fit right in.  We're more concerned about meeting your real life needs than what you wear.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL I HEAR?

We seek the heart of our heavenly Father through worship for about thirty minutes each Sunday.  You can expect a young and energetic style of music with some refreshed hymns.  Expect to be uplifted and encouraged!

Contact us, if you have any additional questions regarding what you should expect when you visit Grace Fellowship of Cabot.
